Apeks XTX regulators are respected as some of the best SCUBA regulators available with an excellent pedigree and to make improvements has not been easy. The new XTX40 takes all that is good from its predecessor and offers even more with stunning looks and practical improvements. The 2nd stage has a larger purge button which is easier for diver use and also offers a dual flow rate purge for different operations. We have also redesigned the diver adjustable controls with improved ergonomics on the venturi lever and the Cracking Resistance Control. Every aspect of the new XTX40 has been thought about to bring the whole unit together so that it not only performs exceptionally well but also looks great. In addition the 2nd stage is now manufactured with active protection against infection as all moulded parts are made with an additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-Coli, bacteria and fungi and is also very effective against viruses, mould, yeast and algae. Our regulators are made to high standards in the most advanced factory in the world for regulator design and manufacture with exceptional quality controls. Imitation is of course flattering and there are copies of our equipment. We don't make regulators for anyone else, so to ensure you get an authentic Apeks regulator our branding is now clearly visible on both the 1st and 2nd stages of the new XTX40.
The XTX40 regulator can be converted from a right handed hose configuration (as supplied from the APEKS factory) to a left handed one. This feature is known as the Reversible Venturi System (RVS). Changing the regulator to a left handed configuration is both quick and simple and can be performed by any APEKS Authorised Service Technician.
The XTX40 regulator incorporates the Diver Changeable Exhaust system (DCE). It offers divers the ability to change from the small exhaust tee (supplied as standard) to a larger exhaust tee. This gives a choice of the wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and the narrow exhaust tee for a smaller, more compact regulator (also ideal for use as an octopus).
The XTX40 regulator incorporates a two-shot high strength composite front cover, improving the durability of the most vulnerable part of the demand valve.
The new ergonomic Venturi lever of the XTX40 has been designed to reduce the amount of grit ingress.
A new swivel hose connection is available at an extra cost. This allows the demand valve end of the hose connection to rotate and pivot, providing a more comfortable fit.
A new silicone exhaust valve has been used on the XTX40 regulator improving breathing performance.
