The Dive Rite Low Profile Balanced Relief Valve has been designed from the ground up to be one of the thinnest relief valves on the market. Its compact, aerodynamic shape makes it more comfortable, lighter, and less likely to snag on guide rails or environmental hazards.
The low-profile balanced relief valve is a hands-free design with an external one-way mushroom valve, allowing the relief valve to be dived even when not connected. The machined Delrin body is designed for easy installation and removal for cleaning. A slotted outer cap allows for quick removal for inspection of the external mushroom valve or for cleaning any debris.
An updated balance valve design equalizes pressure between the tube and the drysuit interior, greatly reducing the possibility of leaks. Twenty-four inches of anti-kink rubber tubing are included, and a unique swivel hose barb adds even more convenience for the diver.
A relief valve is an essential accessory for any drysuit diver, especially on long dives. Without one, divers tend to intentionally dehydrate themselves to avoid "pulse" during extended bottom dives. Hydration has been proven to be critical in preventing decompression sickness. With our relief valves, proper hydration is no longer a concern.
Note: Installation requires a 1-5/8 inch (1.625 inch) or 41 mm punch and the correct adhesive for your drysuit. Dive Rite recommends installation by a professional drysuit repair center.
Designed for trilaminate-style drysuits. Installation on shredded neoprene suits is possible, but requires an alternative gasket style. Contact Dive Rite or your local drysuit repair center for details.
It is very important to clean the relief valve after use to prevent urinary tract infections. Steramine is a popular disinfectant for cleaning relief valves and rebreather breathing loops.
